A woman, her TikTok lover and nephew have been arrested for allegedly bludgeoning the woman’s husband to death. The incident occurred in the city of Bengaluru, in the southwest Indian state of Karnataka.

The woman, identified as 37-year-old Nethra, surrendered to the police minutes after murdering her husband at their home in Bengaluru, on Saturday. She told the police that she killed her husband, Swamiraj, because he had been harrassing her and forcing her to commit adultery, Mid-Day reported.

Further investigations, however, revealed that Nethra murdered her husband with the help of her lover, Bharat, 32, and a relative, Vijay Kumar, 25.

Nethra, who was a TikTok enthusiast, reportedly met Bharat on the app before it was banned in India. When Swamiraj found out about his wife’s extramarital affair, the two had frequent arguments over the matter after victim asked Nethra to never meet Bharat again.

The woman allegedly hatched a plan with her paramour and nephew to bludgeon her husband in their house late Saturday night, and also purchased an iron rod to commit the crime. Nethra is said to have asked Bharat and Vijay to keep a lookout outside her house while she bludgeoned the man inside.

The woman is then said to have paid her two accomplices and rushed to the police station to confess. During the preliminary investigation, cops discovered the involvement of the other two suspects by going through Nethra’s call list.

The victim's father, Basavaraju M, told the cops that he went to check up on his son when he did not answer his calls. "I rushed to his home and found him lying in a pool of blood. He had severe head injuries. Nethra was holding an iron rod and fled as soon as I entered the house," the victim’s father said, according to The Times of India.

During interrogation, Nethra claimed that the victim had also misbehaved with his adopted daughter, which was also the reason why she killed him. But, Swamiraj’s father and ex-wife allege that Nethra is trying to take over her deceased husband's property and claimed that was the motive behind the murder.
