A woman in Argentina allegedly murdered her boyfriend, put the corpse in a wardrobe and buried it in concrete after she claimed the victim sexually abused her 13-year-old son.

Gilda Acosta, 47, from Paraguay, was arrested Wednesday after Buenos Aires police discovered the body of Richard Alejandro Sánchez, a 28-year-old brick-layer, also from Paraguay, in the suspect’s house, located in Lomas de Zamora, Buenos Aires, Argentina. The body was discovered when the authorities cracked open a wardrobe lying on the floor of the master bedroom, which was covered in concrete and had blood spilling out of its sides, with flies them.

According to local newspaper Infobae, Acosta turned herself in at the Villa Rita police station, Lomas, Wednesday, and confessed to killing her boyfriend, prompting them to conduct a search of her house. Acosta willingly turned over the keys to her house to the authorities.

"I killed my partner. I put him in a closet. I did it because he abused my son,” she reportedly told the police, adding that she had "killed him with blows" using a sledgehammer on Dec. 19, and used the cement to hide the body.

Forensic experts and firefighters responded to the scene apart from the police. Officers had to wear oxygen masks because of the advanced amount of decomposition the body was in and the lack of ventilation in the house.

A source at the police station told the publication that once they launched an investigation into the incident, they discovered that “everything coincides with the story that the woman did in the police station.” An autopsy of the body was carried out Thursday which determined the official cause of death was strangulation.

Sánchez suffered at least ten strong blows to his head after he was suffocated with a cable, the autopsy report stated. It also added the hands of the victim were tied with a rag, another local outlet Ultimahora reported.

Although the woman accused the victim of sexually abusing her child, there was no record of her ever filing an official complaint against him in the past, according to police sources. The 13-year-old will be questioned as part of the investigation when he will have the chance to either corroborate or refute his mother’s allegations against the victim. The suspect was also asked to present evidence supporting her claim to the prosecutors.

There were also discrepancies regarding the timeline of the murder. Despite Acosta saying she committed the murder in mid-December, the victim reportedly sent an audio WhatsApp message to one of his relatives on Monday informing when he would return to his native country. He also apparently sent similar messages to his daughter who lives in Paraguay on Feb. 18. In addition, one of the victim’s neighbors said he saw Sánchez days before Acosta’s arrest, at his house.

Authorities said they cannot rule out the possibility of the suspect posing as her husband in the days leading up to her arrest. It was not immediately clear if Acosta was charged.
