apple changes delivery date macbook pro
Delivery date for Apple's 15-inch MacBook Pro pushed to June 5-8, coinciding with WWDC. Apple

Apple recently updated online availability of 15-inch MacBook Pro on its website to June 6-8 to coincide with the Worldwide Developers Conference next week, MacRumors first spotted.

The move comes after a Bloomberg report said Apple plans to announce its new laptop lineup at WWDC. Apple will reportedly announce new versions of the 12-inch MacBook and MacBook Pro at the event. The company is also said to be considering updating the MacBook Air, which hasn’t been upgraded in years.

In-store pickup of the 15-inch MacBook Pro is available for June 8. The availability update did not apply to the 13-inch MacBook Pro version, with delivery dates as soon as May 31.

The 15-inch MacBook Pro delivery dates are also pushed back by a few days in the U.K., Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Netherlands, Singapore, Spain, and other countries.

It’s not clear whether Apple’s availability date change is because it plans to reveal only the 15-inch MacBook Pro at WWDC, or if Apple has higher supply of the 13-inch laptops ahead of WWDC.

MacBook Lineup WWDC

Apple will reportedly add a faster Kaby Lake processor from Intel to the new MacBook Pro, which is rumored to be announced at WWDC. The laptop will look like the previous version, with mostly internal changes.

Apple is said to be revamping the 12-inch MacBook with a faster Intel chip. The Cupertino company could also update the MacBook Air with a new processor.

Apple has been also reportedly working on a new in-house chip for a future MacBook Pro that manages the laptops low-power mode, although it’s not clear whether that feature will be included in the upcoming lineup.

The rumored laptop lineup comes after the Touch Bar MacBook Pro’s release last fall. The new computers could help Apple excite fans and compete with Microsoft, which recently introduced the Surface Laptop.

What Apple Will Announce At WWDC

Besides the MacBook products, Apple could also announce the iPad Pro 2, which is rumored to come with an edge-to-edge display and a new accessory: the Apple Pencil 2.

Apple could also announce its Siri speaker, which will compete with Amazon’s Alexa Echo devices and Google Home. KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently said earlier this month there is an "over 50 percent chance” the device will be revealed at WWDC. Amazon recently launched the Echo Show, which comes with a built-in display, and the Echo Look. It is unclear whether Apple’s Siri gadget will come with a screen.

Apple could also announce updates to macOS, tvOS, watchOS and Apple Pay. The company could also give the public a glimpse of the upcoming iOS 11 update for iPads and iPhones, which is expected to launch in September alongside the much-anticipated iPhone 8.
