WWE Monday Night RAW on Aug. 27 was broadcast live from BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wis.. The night saw CM Punk gain a victory over Jerry "The King" Lawler, Triple H gave a thank you speech to the WWE Universe after losing being decimated by Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam, John Cena met with longtime rival The Miz, and Daniel Bryan and Kane had their anger management sessions..

At the opening of the show, the WWE Champion denied Legend and commentator Jerry Lawler an apology after Punk kicked King in the back of the head last week. After a long segment of Punk taunting the veteran wrestler, the Champion challenges Lawler, which he accepts later in the show.

The match is decided by the WWE Universe via a Twitter poll and a cage match is selected. After Punk and Lawler go back and forth, with Punk in control the majority of the match, the Second City Saint prevails over the King.

After the match, Punk chained the cage door shut and continued his assault on the WWE commentator. The WWE Champion's opponent at the upcoming Night of Champions pay-per-view, John Cena came out to aid Lawler, but couldn't until the cage lifted and Punk quickly exited.

John Cena faced off against longtime rival The Miz earlier in the night. Cena picked up a victory over the current Intercontinental Champion, continuing the long-running losing trend of The Miz, who has lost far more matches than he's won since returning and winning the IC Title.

The WWE Title match for the Sept. pay-per-view was announced by AJ Lee prior to the main event cage match.

The only news that could be considered bigger than the WWE Title match between John Cena and current champion CM Punk at Night of Champions is the implied retirement of Triple H. The Game's career is not over, as NoDQ noted the segment was to make audiences believe that Chief Operating Officer (COO) would be leaving the ring permanently.

Triple H gave a thank you speech thanking the World Wrestling Entertainment fans and even began tearing during the segment. After rumors that the King of Kings would return to action this October or November, it is now being reported that Triple H won't make his comeback until WrestleMania 29 in April 2013.

Daniel Bryan and Kane were both forced to sit through a series of anger management classes by RAW General Manager AJ Lee. The segments have been well received by fans, with Bleach Report calling them "some of the best non-wrestling segments WWE has produced in years."

The short segments aired throughout the show and featured a frustrated Bryan interacting with other members of the group, including Kane. The Big Red Monster comically recalled his entire character history, which had audience members laughing in the background.

After the anger management videos ended Daniel Bryan fought one half of the Tag Team Champions R-Truth. The match ended in count out after Bryan got in a shouting match with a fan at ringside, with the victory going to Truth, sending Bryan into another tantrum.

Kane didn't have a match on RAW, but he was at ringside for the Zack Ryder vs. David Otunga match. Josh Mathews who was filling in for King on commentary ran from the area as Kane approach the announcers table for fear of being attacked like he was at SummerSlam.

The Long Island Ice Z won his match against Otunga after hitting a Ruff Ryder. Once the match ended, Kane took to the ring and went to Chokeslam Ryder, but he changed his mind last minute and performed the maneuver on Otunga instead.

The dominant Ryback faced former World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger in another squash match Monday night. The All-American American was defeated without strain.

The intellectual tag team of Damien Sandow and Cody Rhodes faced their respective foes Brodus Clay and Sin Cara. Clay and Cara were victorious in the match, and the celebrated with Brodus's usual post-match dancing.

The Divas Champion Layla earned a victory of Hart family member Natalia. The women faced off with Kaitlyn on commentary and Vickie Guerrero openly rushing them for what she claims is an important announcement.

After the match, Vickie Guerrero complained about AJ Lee's management style, saying that it was unfair to put Dolph Ziggler, who Guerrero manages, in a match after Ziggler defeated Jericho last week. The RAW General Manager keeps a smile on until she lunges at Vickie and the two begin to fight, before Guerrero escapes and runs back stage.

Later, Guerrero's client Dolph Ziggler took part in a tag match with partner Alberto Del Rio to face Sheamus and Randy Orton. The Viper and the Celtic Warrior defeated their opponents.

Sheamus vs. Del Rio for the World Heavyweight Championship is already confirmed for Night of Champions next month, but Ziggler and Orton are both without opponents for the Sept. pay-per-view. This could be the perfect opportunity to build a short feud between the two before the Sept. 16 event.

The former US Champion Santino Marrella was in action against Heath Slater. The one man band couldn't get the upper hand and lost to Marrella after Slater was hit with the Cobra.
