"Yellowstone" is taking a break before it returns for the second half of Season 5.

The ongoing series explores the drama surrounding the Dutton family, the owners of the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch—also known as the Yellowstone—the largest ranch in Montana.

"Yellowstone" achieved its biggest overnight premiere yet when it returned to Paramount Network in November with Season 5, with the premiere episode bringing in 12.1 million live-plus-same-day viewers, according to Entertainment Weekly.

During the midseason finale Sunday, Paramount Network revealed a teaser trailer for the next episode of "Yellowstone" Season 5 as well as its release date.

"Yellowstone" Season 5, Episode 9 Release Date

So far, "Yellowstone" has released eight out of Season 5's 14 episodes, with episode 8, "A Knife and No Coin," airing Sunday.

"Yellowstone" Season 5, episode 9 was initially expected to air Jan. 8. But in a new 30-second promo during Sunday's midseason finale, Paramount Network revealed that the remaining episodes of the fifth season will arrive in the summer of 2023.

It did not reveal the exact air date, but actress Piper Perabo, who plays Summer Higgins on the show, told TV Insider that they have not begun filming the second half of Season 5. She also teased "some big things" happening this season.

"There's a lot coming," she said. "Things are on the move. I can't wait to get back to the back half just because I want to know what happens. I personally only know what happens up to the midseason finale up to that last second, and I don't know what happens when we come back."

"Yellowstone" Season 5, Episode 9 Trailer

The 30-second teaser for the second half of "Yellowstone" Season 5 was shared on its official YouTube channel, showing the main characters of the show, including Kevin Costner's John Dutton.

Aside from Costner and Perabo, the series also stars Luke Grimes, Wes Bentley, Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille, Brecken Merrill, Gil Birmingham, Mo Brings Plenty and Wendy Moniz, among others.
