Young and the Restless
Chelsea (Melissa Clare Egan) covers her tracks on the Feb. 12, 2018 episode of “The Young and the Restless.” CBS

She was stunned when Victor showed her he had the money she’d stolen from Fenmore’s, and now, in an effort to make sure her real secret isn’t revealed to the man she loves, Chelsea will do whatever is necessary to keep covering her tracks on the Monday, Feb. 12 episode of “The Young and the Restless.’

After Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) began expressing doubts that Chelsea (Melissa Clare Egan) was telling the truth, and that she was the one behind the fake site selling her clothes, the con woman was forced to do whatever she could to keep suspicions from continuing to fall on her. However, her plans, and the scheme in general, ran into some snags on the CBS soap, particularly when the money she’d stashed at Adam’s grave went missing, as well as when she received some threatening text messages which indicated someone else knew the truth about Christian’s paternity.

The biggest blow however came when she went to Victor (Eric Braden) about the texts, and was stunned when he dumped her missing money on his desk. Now, he will warn her he knows what she’s been up to, and if he finds out she’s resorted back to her past schemes, he will make sure her life is ruined for good, and she loses everything she’s gotten.

Even more devastating for Chelsea has been the fact that Nick (Joshua Morrow) has started to express doubts about her and whether or not she’s telling the truth to him. The fact that he’s caught her in several lies has only added to his concerns, and now, Chelsea will not only need to worry about convincing Victor that she’s not committing crimes, but she will have to make sure Nick still trusts her enough to stay in their relationship.

When Nick asks her about her most recent lies—which included not telling him about the threatening texts and not telling him that she had gone to the cemetery—Chelsea will quickly cover her tracks, assuring Nick that the texts were a misunderstanding. She will also tell him that she went to pay her late husband a visit to make sense of why he hid money in their bathroom wall (Nick believes Adam was the one who stashed the cash). Though things could still seem a little off, Nick will opt to believe what Chelsea tells him.

Meanwhile, Victor will cover for her when it comes to the stolen cash after he returns it to Lauren (Traci Bregman), but encourages her to drop the investigation into who was taking the money in the first place. Lauren will agree, but Phyllis may not be as easily deterred, especially since she wants to make sure Chelsea pays for everything she’s done.

“The Young and the Restless” airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EST on CBS.
