She wants to do whatever she can to get her brother’s forgiveness following the reveal that she caused the accident which killed Hilary and their baby. Now, Lily will be prepared to suffer the consequences as she goes to the police with the new information about that fateful day on the Tuesday, August 7 episode of “The Young and the Restless.”

After Shauna (Camryn Hamm) revealed during Hilary’s (Mishael Morgan) memorial on the CBS soap that Lily (Christel Khalil) was actually responsible for the horrific car accident, Devon (Bryton James) became livid with his sister, and warned her that if she didn’t go to the police and admit what she had done, then he would do it for her. Knowing it was is the right thing to do, and hoping it will help her get a little closer to her brother forgiving her, Lily has decided that she will do just that.

Lily (Christel Khalil) makes a painful decision on the August 7, 2018 episode of “The Young and the Restless.” CBS

Lily will hire Michael (Christian LeBlanc) to represent her as she goes to discuss the accident with Paul (Doug Davidson). Lily will reveal that she wants to take back her previous statement about the accident, stating she now remembers she ran the red light, and the truck that hit her car did not, in fact, come out of nowhere, as it had the right-of-way. She will also state that she is the reason Hilary is dead, a comment her lawyer will caution her is the wrong one to make. However, desperate to earn Devon’s forgiveness, she will continue, also discussing how Hilary lost her baby as a result of the accident as well.

While what she faces as a potential punishment for the accident, and for not coming clean sooner, remains to be seen, Lily will learn that there are more consequences than he realized, especially in light of the comments she made about both Hilary and the baby’s deaths. Michael will warn her that those confessions, which were taped, could be used against her in a very big way, as they can be used to prove she’s guilty of two counts of vehicular homicide—and could land her in jail for a very long sentence.

Even worse for Lily, her confession may not even work when it comes to earning the forgiveness she seeks. A preview clip for the week’s episodes shows Devon gloating that he will make sure his sister gets the maximum sentence, meaning he genuinely wants her to serve time before he considers forgiving her for the accident.

“The Young and the Restless” airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
