He’s been dealing with a dark side that has plagued him since Adam’s return to town, even though he’s not even aware of what’s been going on inside his mind. However, Billy will finally face his demons and realize what he needs to do in order to get back his life on the Tuesday, Sept. 17 episode of “The Young and the Restless.”

After Billy (Jason Thompson) finally went too far by trying to kill Adam (Marc Grossman), Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) and Kevin (Greg Rikaart) kept him holed up in a cabin as they tried to see if they could help him on the CBS soap. However, nothing was really working, and when Victoria (Amelia Heinle) began questioning the story that he was in rehab, they decided to bring her to him. Since then, she has seen two different sides of him as well, and it is clear there is something bigger going on with him. Now, with her help, Billy will be forced to finally confront his problems—and the alter-personality he didn’t know he had.

According to spoilers for the CBS soap, Billy will be visited by the demons that haunt him in the form of the people closest to him who have always fought with him as well. In addition to Jack (Peter Bergman) and Jill (Jess Walton), he will also find himself visited by Phyllis (Michelle Stafford), Adam (Marc Grossman) and Delia, who will warn him that if he doesn’t get past his problems surrounding her death now, then he won’t find her again when his own death happens because he won’t make it to the other side.

However, even if he really does start to face his problems and try to fight through them, it won’t be an easy path, especially since he will need to rejoin the real world—which includes all of the other people who have played a role in all of the destructive decisions he has made in his life. In addition, he may find himself without Victoria as a true ally soon enough, since she will be facing a shock trauma of her own when she finally gets back to Genoa City.

The Newman family has been rocked by Victor (Eric Braden) passing out and then suddenly passing away, something that wasn’t supposed to happen with the condition he was fighting. So far, the rest of his children are aware of what happened since they were at the Ranch when everything went down, but she has been unreachable since she went to go find Billy and doesn’t know her father is gone. When she learns the news, it will no doubt consume her and take her away from addressing Billy’s needs.

“The Young and the Restless” airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
