A man in a gray Volkswagen Jetta, armed with an assault rifle, is reportedly driving toward President Barack Obama's appearance in Westchester County, New York, according to a local media report Friday.

A police hotline caught a car with Connecticut license plates heading toward the New Rochelle area, the Journal News reported. Obama is scheduled to make one of two fundraising appearances there on Friday. The car was first spotted in Yonkers.

Air Force One reportedly landed at Westchester County Airport Friday afternoon. The Obama motorcade consisted of 20 vehicles, including state and county police as well as an ambulance.

Later, the president is expected at a Democratic National Committee fundraiser in nearby Purchase, N.Y., on Friday afternoon. During Labor Day weekend the president is also expected to attend the wedding of longtime White House chef Sam Kass in upstate New York. Kass is also the director of first lady Michelle Obama’s fitness campaign.

The New Rochelle and Yonkers police departments told International Business Times they had no information about the report on Friday afternoon, but implied they might have more information later in the day.
