Samsung Galaxy S3 Rumors Roundup: From Release Date to Specs (What We Know So Far)

Samsung Galaxy S2 has been voted as the best smartphone till date on most of Internet polls. Now, even a better smartphone is coming as Samsung is going to change their flagship very soon with Galaxy S3, which is believed to be in development.

Samsung Galaxy S2 rumor mills, at the moment, is not spinning at its top speed, but it is gaining momentum day by day, and new rumors are fueling the mill regularly. Here is a brief rundown of what we know about Samsung Galaxy S2.

Design

Samsung Galaxy S3's design is making a lot of buzz. A Rado-style ceramic design is expected. Samsung will design Galaxy S3 in such a way that it can avoid more legal patent wars with Apple.

Samsung Galaxy S3 is expected to sport 4.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus screen with 720p resolution. It will be protected with next generation Corning Gorilla Glass. The device can have nano coating to make it water-resistant and fingerprint-proof. The only bad about Galaxy S2's design is its cheap plastic back cover. Samsung will make Galaxy S3 more stylish.

Processor and Memory

The new flagship device may be packed with quad-core processor clocked at 1.8 GHz with 2GB of RAM. It will come with internal storage options of 16/32GB. Giving expandable memory options, it will support microSD card up to 64GB.

Connectivity

Galaxy S3 is expected to be LTE enabled and NFC ready. It may feature Bluetooth version 4.0, assisted GPS with GLONASS, Wi-Fi with DLNA and hotspot functionality.

Camera

An upgraded 12 megapixel rear snapper is expected to be packed in Galaxy S3 for superior camera technology. However, we won't be surprised to see the old 8-megapixel camera in Galaxy S3. The front camera could have a 2-megapixel sensor that will record 720p videos.

User Interface

Samsung's home-baked TouchWiz UI is not considered as a fancy UI. And many users criticize that. Samsung is going to improve it with all new TouchWiz UI version 5.0 and this could be the sole difference between ICS-upgraded Galaxy S3 UI and Galaxy S2 UI.

Release date

Galaxy S2 and iPhone 4S are always compared whenever there is a question of which is the best smartphone. After the new iPad, Apple is going to release its next generation iPhone. Many reports say that Galaxy S3 will be announced next month. But if that was the case, then Samsung would have released it at MWC.

Possibly, Galaxy S3 will see the light of day before iPhone 5. June 2012 release date is widely anticipated.
