The 10-year-old victim of a shooting at a high school football game in New Jersey last Friday died from his injuries.

10-year-old Micah Tennant was shot in the neck in a shooting that happened during a football game in the Philadelphia Eagles’ Lincoln Financial Field in Pleasantville and was announced dead on Wednesday.

He was one of the three injured victims of the incident that happened third quarter of the game between Camden and Pleasantville high schools, authorities told CNN.

“Words at this time seem so insufficient to portray anger and outrage that our community feels,” Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyler said in a news release. “However, his spirit will live on in so many people that he inspired.”

A GoFundMe page dedicated to Tennant had amassed more than $26,000.

During the continuation of the suspended playoffs, Tennant’s death was announced before the playing of the national anthem and the teams observed a moment of silence.

Both Camden and Pleasantville teams locked arms in remembrance and some athletes displayed the number 10 on their jerseys.

“Our thoughts are with his family, loved ones and all impacted by the news,” the game announcer said.

“Today, we join with Micah’s family and this community to demonstrate that acts of violence do not win.”

The Philadelphia Eagles had offered to host the game which will be closed to the general public with each high school provided with a defined number of free passes specifically for the players’ parents and family members, Fox News reported.

“It’s extremely unfortunate that a senselessly violent act has impacted this game and there will be a wide range of emotions along both sidelines,” New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association Executive Director Larry White said. “However, thanks to the Eagles’ generosity and community spirit, Pleasantville and Camden student-athletes and their families will have an opportunity to write their own ending to this game.”

The game concluded with Camden winning over Pleasantville with a score of 22-0.

“Some things are bigger than football,” the Eagles tweeted.

The two other victims of the shooting were 27-year-old Ibn Abdullah and an unnamed 15-year-old boy.

Abdullah, whose condition is currently stable and is awaiting surgery, was said to be the target of the shooting and was charged when emergency responders found a gun on his person.

The 15-year-old victim was treated for a graze wound.

The suspect was determined as 31-year-old Alvin Wyatt whose charges in connection with the shooting were upgraded to murder, along with two counts of attempted murder and weapon charges.

Three other suspects, Vance Golden, 26, Tyrell Dorn, 28 and Michael Mack, 27, all face weapon charges while a fourth suspect, Shahid Dixon, 27, faces weapon and eluding charges.
