More than 100 dogs were saved from a fire at a pet daycare facility in Seattle on Wednesday.

The fire broke out late morning near the 13000 block of Lake City Way, the officials reported on social media. All seven workers present in the building were first evacuated "without injuries."

While firefighters swiftly evacuated the pets, the community joined in to help with the rescue and transportation.

Most dogs were taken out of the daycare without any harm. However, some dogs did require medical attention, according to NBC affiliate King5. Two of the canines were taken to a local veterinarian, and were being treated for smoke inhalation, the outlet said.

"Firefighters rescued multiple dogs from the building and provided medical care," a social media post from Seattle Fire read. The firefighting crew had "oxygen masks designed to fit dogs and small animals," King5 reported.

The firefighters were assisted by people driving by, local businesses and a box truck. The owner of BowWow Fun Towne, another Washington-based pet shelter, also reportedly helped with transport.

The Seattle Animal Control was also summoned to the scene to provide support with the transportation of the dogs. In addition to trucks, authorities reportedly used King County buses to move 75 of the rescued pets.

Seattle Animal Shelter official Don Baxter described the incident as the department's largest-scale fire in terms of the number of animals, as per King5.

April Panpipat, the Hospital Director at Animal Center of Seattle, praised the efforts of everyone who helped with the rescue. "I thought that was very impressive. There were multiple people from everywhere," he told King5.

"Fire department, ambulances, that all chipped in to make sure that happened quickly was the best thing for them," he added.

Firefighters conducted a primary and secondary scan of the area impacted by the blaze and reported that it was "all clear," Seattle Fire said on Twitter.

The cause of the fire was still unknown and the incident was under investigation.

Some of the dogs rescued from the scene were returned to their families at the scene. The ones that could not be picked up were transported to BowWow Fun Towne temporarily.
