"1000-Lb. Sisters" star Tammy Slaton is feeling "even more depressed" after learning that she gained weight despite several months of trying to shed pounds.

Tammy has been trying to lose weight in order to qualify for bariatric surgery, or weight loss surgery, like her sister, Amy Slaton. However, in the Season 2 finale of "1000-Lb. Sisters," the TLC star, who was hospitalized due to COVID-19, found out that she had gained 21 pounds since her last weigh-in.

A virtual weigh-in with her doctor and brother Chris, who is also trying to lose weight, showed that Tammy now weighs 665 pounds.

She told Dr. Eric Smith that she "just wasn't doing what I needed to do." "I mean, sometimes I try to eat healthier, and then other days I'm like, 'What the heck's the point?'" she added in the clip shared by People.

When Smith asked Tammy how she feels after making "those bad choices," she got emotional. "Even more depressed," she said while crying. "Because I know I shouldn't sit there and eat it all, but I do, and I don't know how to stop."

Although Tammy was upset over the results, Smith said he believes it was a breakthrough for her.

"That's honest," he told her. "Not so much that you're hungry, but [that] it's an addiction that you have of needing that food to fulfill, maybe when you're down or sad, or something's missing in your life. I think that's something that maybe we need to talk about and deal with."

Smith also commended Tammy for not using the coronavirus as an excuse for her weight gain. Tammy was hospitalized after contracting COVID-19 and is now on supplemental oxygen.

"I'm really proud of you for the fact that you just admitted, 'I don't know how to stop,' because that's the first step in asking somebody to try to help you learn to stop," Smith said.

"You could've blamed [that] you couldn't get out of bed, you could've blamed that you had COVID and you could've blamed that you were in the hospital, and you didn't. And believe it or not, that's a step forward from where you've been in the past. So you just made progress even though your weight went up," the doctor continued.

The doctor remains optimistic about Tammy's progress. He added that though their road to surgery is still long, they are getting there.

"1000-Lb. Sisters" Season 2 finale airs Monday at 10 p.m. EST on TLC.
