Let us take a look at the net worth of the top five richest world leaders in 2022.

Russian President Vladimir Putin is currently the richest world leader, with a net worth of $70 billion, as per Celebrity Net Worth.

The leader, who gained the attention of several nations after declaring war against Ukraine, reportedly earns $187,000 per year.

According to reports, Putin owns numerous assets, such as yachts, cars and mansions, rumored to be worth billions of dollars.

Over the years, experts have tried to guess how much Putin’s actual net worth was. While their estimates differed, they would place the leader among the world’s richest.

As per a Forbes report, Anders Aslund, a Swedish economist, believes that Putin’s assets are worth between $100 billion and $150 billion.

It was also reported that Russian individuals with close ties to Putin have also amassed fortunes worth between $500 million and $2 billion each on behalf of the Russian president.

Russian tycoons with ties to Putin and his daughters are currently facing sanctions by several countries, including the United Kingdom and the United States, in response to Russia’s brutal assault on Ukraine.

With a net worth of $5 billion, North Korea's supreme leader Kim Jong-un stands as the second-richest world leader.

In March 2013, a joint South Korean and American investigation found as much as $5 billion worth of assets and bank accounts controlled by Kim Jong-un and his family. The assets were found in more than 200 foreign bank accounts. Many of the accounts were located in China and reportedly contained hundreds of millions of dollars.

Kim reportedly owns almost 20 mansions scattered around North Korea. He is also said to own over 100 luxury cars, with a preference for European sports cars, a private jet and a luxury yacht more than 100 feet in length.

The third richest world leader is Ilham Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan. His net worth stands at $900 million.

Ilham's presidential salary is just $230,000 per year. But thanks to the tight grip he holds on Azerbaijan's oil resources, his family has prospered enormously.

Ilham's son reportedly owns nine luxury mansions in Dubai worth $45 million. His daughters own an additional $30 million worth of Dubai real estate.

Rwandan President Paul Kagame is the fourth richest world leader today, with a net worth of $500 million.

In 2012, it was reported that Kagame and his family allegedly controlled the majority of the Rwandan economy through a holding company. Called Crystal Ventures, the company reportedly owned assets with a book value of $500 million, including a $50 million Bombardier Global Express private jet.

Kenya President Uhuru Kenyatta made it to the list. Like Kagame, he has a net worth of $500 million.

Uhuru is currently a member of the Jubilee Party of Kenya. He was involved with the National Alliance and the Kenya African National Union before.
