KEY POINTS

  • Shailene Woodley and Aaron Rodgers usually "agree to disagree" on subjects such as political matters, a report says
  • The engaged couple reportedly decided early on in their relationship not to debate on such topics
  • Woodley previously defended Rodgers amid backlash over his COVID-19 vaccine statements

Shailene Woodley and Aaron Rodgers avoid talking about subjects they don't see eye to eye on, according to a report.

An unnamed source told People that Woodley, 30, and Rodgers, 38, usually "agree to disagree" on subjects such as political matters where they have very different views.

"They are not talking about their politics, and they never really have," the insider said. "They disagreed on a lot of things. Early on, they decided to agree to disagree about things and not debate them."

The tipster added, "She is not someone whose mind you can change, so Aaron hasn't even tried."

The "Divergent" actress began dating the Green Bay Packers quarterback in 2020 during the pandemic. Rodgers announced their engagement when he accepted his third MVP trophy at the 10th Annual NFL Honors on Feb. 6, 2021.

He did not name his fiancée at the time, but Woodley later confirmed their engagement on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," telling late-night host Jimmy Fallon: "Yes, we are engaged. But for us, it's not new news, you know, so it's kind of funny. Everyone right now is freaking out over it and we're like, 'Yeah, we've been engaged for a while.'"

Rumors surfaced late last year that the pair may have broken up as Woodley was not by his side when Rodgers celebrated his 38th birthday on Dec. 2, 2021. The "Big Little Lies" star also did not acknowledge the event on social media, causing some fans to speculate on the status of their relationship.

However, a source close to Woodley told People at the time that this means nothing and that the couple's relationship is still going strong.

"They have a different, non-traditional relationship," the unnamed insider said. "Shailene and Aaron are still together. It's not odd they don't post about each other on their birthdays in that sense, and are very private about things."

In November last year, the "Adrift" actress defended her fiancé amid backlash sparked by Rodgers' admission that he is unvaccinated after he tested positive for COVID-19. The NFL star was accused of breaking COVID-19 protocols after Daily Mail published a report claiming Rodgers was allegedly spotted grabbing some coffee in Brentwood, Los Angeles, following his diagnosis.

Woodley pointed out various differences between her beau and the man in the images published by the outlet, including their hands and the car they drive.

"Literally y'all need to calm the f--- down. This is straight up HILARIOUS. News outlets STILL grasping at straws to disparage Aaron. Finding random f---ing men on the streets of LA and saying it's him," Woodley wrote via her Instagram Story, alongside an alleged photo of Rodgers.
