BRUSSELS - Anheuser-Busch InBev, the world's largest brewer, could cut 10 percent of its 8,000 workforce in western Europe due to falling beer markets, a spokeswoman for the group said on Friday.

The group said on Thursday it could cut 263 jobs in Belgium, out of a total Belgian workforce of 2,700. Angry workers blocked the entrance to the group's brewery in Leuven, Belgium, on Friday in protest.

We face the challenge of falling beer markets in several western European countries, and every country is developing differently. We have therefore carried out an analysis of each of the markets, spokeswoman Karen Couck said. (Reporting by Antonia van de Velde; Editing by Mike Nesbit)
