With Wednesday marking her 90th birthday, Barbara Walters is reportedly not celebrating the day with a great deal of fanfare.

According to Radar Online, the ailing Walters will be without her closest friends on her special day but will instead spend it with her daughter, Jackie.

Walter stepped out of the media limelight more than three years ago, and reports of her frail state have surfaced. The beloved news journalist reportedly suffers from dementia as well as other health conditions and has been keeping to her New York home where she is being treated by her caretakers.

“Friends have not spoken with Barbara in two years,” a source told the news outlet. “They’re really heartbroken about it, and don’t understand why they can’t visit her.”

Walters, who was also a former “View” host, is thought to be in a wheelchair and her dementia has caused her to forget her closest friends and family. The memory loss that Walters is suffering may stem as far back as 2013, when she forgot who “View” co-host Jenny McCarthy was, according to Ramin Setoodeh’s book, “Ladies Who Punch: The Explosive Inside Story of “The View”” (via Radar Online).

Beyond her dementia, Walter reportedly suffers from a heart condition, having surgery to repair a faulty valve in 2010 followed by a terrible fall in 2013 and chickenpox shortly after that date.
