“America’s Got Talent” Season 12 contestant Brandon Rogers died after being involved in a fatal car crash last weekend. He was 29.

According to TMZ, Rogers was in the front passenger seat of a car when it veered off the road, leading to his demise. Officers in Maryland responded and arrived at the scene at around 4:30 a.m. after learning that there was a car that crashed into a tree.

Brandon was one of the two passengers in the car, and both of them were hospitalized following the incident. The driver was able to walk away unscathed. An investigation is currently ongoing, but the officers already confirmed that drugs and alcohol did not play a part in the incident.

A source told People that Rogers’ audition was supposed to air on the July 4 episode of the hit NBC reality TV show. However, producers are still contemplating on whether or not he will still be featured in the competition. Rogers was initially discovered by the producers of “America’s Got Talent” after they saw him cover Boyz II Men’s hit song, “On Bended Knee.” Two months ago, he also posted a video of himself performing with the all-male group.

On the group’s official Instagram account, it was confirmed that Boyz II Men performed with Rogers three times during their shows at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas.

Last month, Rogers also shared his excitement over the premiere of “America’s Got Talent” Season 12 on May 30. He captioned the post by saying that he doesn’t have any idea when his episode will air. As of late, judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Mel B and Howie Mandel have not yet released a statement following his passing.
