‘America’s Got Talent’
Who will Laverne Cox give her golden buzzer to in “America’s Got Talent” Season 12? NBC

“America’s Got Talent” Season 12 guest judge will give her golden buzzer to one deserving contestant.

In the sneak peek released by NBC for Tuesday night’s episode, “Orange Is the New Black” actress Laverne Cox dishes on what the golden buzzer really means. “The power of the golden buzzer is not something to be taken lightly. I take it very, very seriously that I have the power of the golden buzzer. But I love it when you see talent where it’s clear that they’ve taken time to cultivate it,” she says.

After watching one of the contestants’ performances, Cox couldn’t help herself from pressing the prestigious reward. In the clip, the award-winning actress says, “I might just have to…” before pressing the buzzer on the judges’ table. Judges Howie Mandel, Mel B, Heidi Klum and Simon Cowell are all surprised by Cox’s move.

As of late, it is still unclear which contestant will receive the golden buzzer from Cox. Throughout the past couple of weeks, all four judges and guest judges Chris Hardwick and DJ Khaled gave their golden buzzers to contestants who sung during their auditions and judge cuts performances. Host Tyra Banks is the only one who gave her golden buzzer to a dance troupe.

Meanwhile, there are only two more judge cuts episode left this season in the hit NBC reality TV competition. After next week’s final installment, “America’s Got Talent” will head to its first live show on Aug. 15. A handful of contestants who will make it to the live shows will be sent home on Aug. 16 if they do not receive enough votes from the viewers.

The first live results show in “America’s Got Talent” Season 12 will be attended by Season 11 winner Grace Vanderwaal, as well as Season 11 contestant, Jon Dorenbos. The one-hour episode will also be attended by several other former contestants of the reality TV competition. All four judges will also be present, and they will be instrumental in deciding which acts will be kept in the competition.

“America’s Got Talent” Season 12 airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EDT on NBC.
