Fresh information coming from an official source at HTC has revealed that the owners of unlocked version of HTC One M9 and One A9 smartphones will be receiving Android Marshmallow updates as soon as within 24 hours. HTC has already released Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for unlocked edition of HTC One M8 at the beginning of this month.

Mo Versi, the VP of Product Management with that Taiwanese company in the U.S., has tweeted that the users of unlocked HTC One M9 and HTC One A9 smartphones will be getting Android 6.0 Marshmallow and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, respectively within 24 hours. The update will be coming to owners of the aforementioned HTC smartphones in the U.S.

As of this writing, there is no official confirmation on when the owners of unlocked HTC One M9 smartphones outside U.S. will be getting the Android 6.0 upgrade. However, Phone Arena has speculated that the update be made available soon in the near future.

The carrier variants of the HTC One M8 have not received the Android 6.0 update. The most recent Android build for carrier variants of the HTC One M9 as well as One M8 will be arriving early in 2016.

HTC One A9 is the first non-Nexus handset to arrive preinstalled with Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. The Android 6.0.1 update that will arrive for HTC One A9 users is said to minor update compared to the original release. It will be arriving with bug fixes and over 200 emojis.

According to 9 to 5 Google, a leaked roadmap of Android 6.0 roll out has revealed that Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update will be arriving for HTC One M9 users in the first quarter of 2016. The Android 6.0 update for HTC One M9 and One A9 is expected to bring along the latest Sense 7.0 UI from HTC.

The HTC Butterfly 3 is also rumored to receive Android 6.0 in the first quarter of 2016. Smartphones like HTC One E8, One M8s, Butterfly 2, Desire EYE, Desire 826, Desire 816, Desire 626 and Desire 526 are slated to get Android M update in second quarter of 2016.
