If you receive a new Android phone as a gift this holiday season or purchased one, you might be excited to use your new smartphone. But, there are some things that you should know and do after taking your new Android phone out of its packaging. Here are some tips and tricks on the essentials to get the most out of your Android smartphone.

Check the Device

Scan the entirety of your new Android phone; look for its charging port, buttons, among other things. Go through the packaging and read the warranty information. Most Android smartphones come with a SIM tool, so check if the packaging comes with a one. Check also for the smartphone’s charger and a pair of earbuds.

Prepare Your Android Smartphone

Connect your Android smartphone to its charger and plug the charger to an outlet. Some phones come partially charged, but most of them do not come full topped off. Remember that in the next few minutes or hours, you would be doing several things on your new Android smartphone, and you would not want it dying on you while in the middle of a crucial process.

Log into Google

As soon as you turn on the Android smartphone, a walkthrough will be there to assist you through the entire setup process. While this varies from one Android smartphone to another, it would ask you to first log into your Google account. You can skip this, but it is not recommended.

If you log into your Google account, Google will link your device with a plethora of services, which is the first step in personalizing your smartphone. Signing in to your Google account will set your email, contacts, and calendars up automatically. It is required in the Google Play Store, and it is also the first step in synchronizing your identity across devices.

Disable Bloatware

Most Android smartphones come with a few pre-installed apps courtesy of either the carrier or the manufacturer. Some of these apps are not important, and you can easily remove them or disable them in your device. These unnecessary apps take up space and could cause your new Android smartphone to slow down.
