Brad Pitt has reportedly spent time with his six children since he and Angelina Jolie split last month.

Sources told People that the “World War Z” actor, 52, recently reunited with his and Jolie’s kids — Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and 8-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox. This is the first time that Pitt has seen his children since Jolie filed for divorce on Sept. 19. “Brad has spent some wonderful time with children recently,” said an insider close to the family.

The Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Service is still currently investigating allegations that the actor verbally and physically abused his and Jolie’s oldest son, Maddox, during a fight on their private plane. Pitt is reportedly undergoing counseling and continuing voluntary drug and alcohol testing while the investigation is ongoing.

The ex-couple agreed to the DCFS’ plan that all six children will be staying with the 41-year-old actress until Oct. 20, while Pitt gets visitation under the supervision of a therapist. Jolie has requested sole physical custody of all their kids, but Pitt is pushing for shared custody.

A source close to the actor told People in a previous report that Pitt has been actively trying to better himself for the sake of his children. “Brad loves his children more than anything in this world, and they matter more than anything else to him. He will do whatever it takes to be with them, now and always,” the insider said.

According to insider, Pitt has been “absolutely devastated and heartbroken by the events of the past several weeks, both in terms of how those events have been wrongfully portrayed and how they have threatened to jeopardize his family’s ability to heal and move forward.”

Meanwhile, People previously reported that Jolie and their six children have been seeking therapy in order to help them cope with life after the split. The source said that Jolie has been trying to stay “strong” for the kids, but “it’s been a traumatic situation” for all of them.

Following the split, Jolie and their children have been staying at a rental home in Los Angeles with the actress’ brother, James Haven. “She did what she felt she had to do to protect the safety of the kids,” the insider added.

According to the source, Jolie and her kids “didn’t leave the rental house for days” and spent most of their time watching movies and playing in the pool. “They are used to more activities and more entertainment so it’s difficult for them to just stay at the house. The younger kids don’t understand what’s going on,” the insider added.
