While Angelina Jolie has shared rare tidbits about her children in the past, in her latest interview, she gushed about her 15-year-old daughter, Zahara.

“The Maleficent 2” actress opened up to Vanessa Nakate, a climate activist from Uganda, as a part of the Time 100 Talks series. During the conversation, Jolie praised the 23-year-old’s work and reflected on how much she admires Zahara for changing her life.

“My daughter is from Ethiopia, one of my children … And I have learned so much from her. She is my family, but she is an extraordinary African woman, and her connection to her country, her continent, is her own, and it’s something I only stand back in awe of,” Jolie said.

Along with Zahara, Jolie shares five other children, Maddox, 18, Pax, 16, Shiloh, 13, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 11, with her estranged husband Brad Pitt.

Jolie’s candid interview comes amid reports that her divorce with the “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” actor is in limbo due to a pause in the court system.

A source previously told Us Weekly that the former couple’s plans to legally end their marriage has been put on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“Brad is seeing the kids, but everything involved in their process of resolving legal matters between Angelina and Brad, including the courts, is slowed down because of COVID,” the insider explained.

“With the pandemic, it has been hard for everyone, including them. The legal process is slowed because of that. They are continuing regular visits, but there has not been a lot of progress in terms of resolving anything.”

Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt in 2016, however, the stars have yet to reach an amicable settlement.
