When Anna Duggar released a statement about her husband Josh Duggar’s molestation scandal in May, she made it clear she knew about his previous wrongdoings. Anna informed fans of the family’s TLC series “19 Kids and Counting” that she was made aware of his “past teenage mistakes” when she “first visited the Duggar home.” But did she really know all of the details?

According to a report from People, Anna, 27, may not have been made privy to all of the details surrounding Josh’s molestation scandal prior to their 2008 wedding. “Anna did know. Her whole family knew something had happened,” a source “close to Josh’s wife” told the magazine. The insider added, however, that his entire scandal “definitely wasn’t portrayed in its entirety.”

As we previously reported, it was revealed in May that Josh, 27, had molested five underage girls as a teen. Two of his sisters, Jessa Seewald and Jill Dillard, later stepped forward as victims, but two of his other female siblings, as well as unnamed female babysitter for the Duggars, are believed to have also been victims of his inappropriate touching.

In June, Josh's parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, spoke out about their son's actions on "The Kelly File." They said that Josh had touched his sisters both over and under their cloths while they were sleeping because he was “curious about girls.” Jim Bob and Michelle said their daughters were unaware they had been molested until they informed them. At 15 years of age, Josh was sent away to a Christian-based treatment meant for boys who had made "unwise choices in their lives.”

“I don’t know she understand the entirely of what had happened,” a source told People. “It was kind of something that was swept under the urge and nobody made a big deal out of it.”

Anna’s “strict religious upbringing,” may have also made it difficult for her to fully grasp what her husband-to-be had done. “She was very sheltered with anything that came to physical relations or anything like that,” said an insider. “She knew the words ‘rape’ or ‘abuse,’ but I don’t think she really understood what they even meant.”

Anna, who shares four children with Josh, Mackynzie, 5, Michael, 4, Marcus, 2, and Meredith, 1 month, is currently said to be hiding out in one of the family’s secluded Arkansas mountain homes. Their decision to flee followed the discovery that Josh had paid for accounts on the cheating website Ashley Madison. Josh, who has admitted to having a pornography addiction and being unfaithful in his marriage, has since apologized for his actions. On Tuesday, he entered a long-term rehabilitation program. He is said to be receiving treatment at Reformers Unanimous.

While it is unknown why the future holds for Anna and Josh, insiders close to the devout brood say Anna is not planning to seek a divorce. Despite some of her siblings, including her brother Daniel Keller, rallying for her to separate herself from Josh, sources say her parents, Mike and Suzette Keller, are telling her to stay put.

"They’re telling her Jesus forgives, Satan is trying to attack your marriage, that kind of stuff,” an insider told People Wednesday.
