Paul Rudd will be reprising his superhero role once again in “Ant-Man 3.” Peyton Reed, who directed the first two solo movies of the franchise, has signed on to be at the helm of the third installment. The fans, however, will have to wait for a while because the movie is expected to be released in 2022.

Cast member Michael Douglas, who plays the role of Dr. Hank Pym in the Marvel movies, spoke about the production of “Ant-Man 3” in an interview with Collider. The actor revealed that the cameras will start rolling for the movie in January 2021.

Since it is going to take Reed a few months to wrap the filming and then finish the postproduction process, the movie is not expected to premiere before 2022. The other big movie that has been confirmed for the same year is “Black Panther 2.”

The next set of Marvel movies that are releasing are a part of the Phase 4. Some of the movies that will be releasing in 2021 are “Thor: Love and Thunder,” “Black Widow,” “The Eternals,” and “Morbius the Living Vampire.”

There was some concern about “Ant-Man 3” when the film was not included in the list for 2021 that was announced at the San Diego Comic Con, Screen Rant reported. There is no doubt now that the movie will be a big part of Marvel’s plans for 2022.

As far as the plot of the movie is concerned, it is expected to focus on the Quantum Realm. This mysterious world has already played a huge role in the story so far, and the upcoming movies will build on it to fight new threats and enemies.

While the fans wait for “Ant-Man 3” release date announcement, the Blu-Ray of “Avengers: Endgame” has already been released. It remains to be seen who the next big baddie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is going to be.
