“Ant-Man and the Wasp” will bring back Scott, Hope and Hank, but the Marvel movie will also introduce a bunch of new characters, many of whom are familiar to comic book fans. Meet the new faces below:

Ghost/Ava (Hannah John-Kammen) This character was a male in the comics, but “Ant-Man and the Wasp” makes the adversary a female. Ghost is technically the villain, but she really just wants to survive. She has deeply personal reasons for wanting Hank’s new technology that he is using to find someone in the quantum realm.

In the comics, Ghost focuses on taking down corporations using technology that makes him intangible. He can’t be a hero because he’s a little too eager to kill anyone who gets in his way. It isn’t clear if the “Ant-Man and the Wasp” version will adopt that ruthless attitude.

Janet van Dyne/The Original Wasp (Michelle Pfeiffer) “Ant-Man” discussed Hope’s (Evangeline Lilly) mother often. She was the original Wasp. Hank (Michael Douglas) believed he lost her forever when she went into the quantum realm. However, Scott once returned from the quantum realm, so it stands to reason that Janet could be saved.

Bill Foster/Goliath (Laurence Fishburne) This character is another size-morphing hero in the comics. In the trailer, he and Scott (Paul Rudd) compare the heights they’ve achieved. The movie will depict Bill as Hank’s workplace nemesis, with both believing they’re smarter than the other. Fishburne has also revealed that Bill is a father figure to the villain.

“I have this sort of surrogate daughter, this character called Ghost played by Hannah John-Kamen, who’s incredible. And we sort of have a father-daughter thing going on,” he revealed at the red carpet premiere last month.

Sonny Burch (Walter Goggins) The gangster is looking to sell Pym’s tech on the black market. He desperately wants Hank’s newest piece of technology, which could make him filthy rich.

Jimmy Woo (Randall Park) The FBI agent has to make sure Scott stays on house arrest and doesn’t violate the Sokovia Accords. Good luck with that, Jimmy.

Meet all the new characters when “Ant-Man and the Wasp” hits theaters July 6. Tickets are on sale now.
