We only have a few months to go before the expected reveal of the Apple Watch Series 5 and so far, all the news coming out is making people excited for the next smartwatch from the Cupertino giant.

Based on the announcement of the watchOS 6, the operating system that’s expected to debut along with the new Apple Watch variant, we know for sure that the Series 5 will now be quite independent of the iPhone to operate. For one, a dedicated watch store will soon make it possible for users to download apps directly on the Apple Watch. This convenient feature would definitely give the user a more efficient option of choosing which app works best for his lifestyle.

Next, we also know that the Apple Watch Series 5 features will include a slew of health benefits including a unique “Noise App” which could determine if sound levels are too loud for people with sensitive hearing. Many are also still holding on to the sleep tracker function, but we might have to wait until launch day to see if this comes to light.

And then there’s the Cycles App, which is very female-centric and highly valuable for users who have fertility issues. The app can help women users keep track of their period and also help them gather important information that can be used for those looking to get pregnant or help those who have trouble conceiving.

The new watch could also help in terms of one’s fitness activities since it keeps track of one’s health goals. The Activity App, which can be synced from phone to Apple Watch, will feature a new Trends tab to give users a quick glance of their activity behavior to help understand their progress. The app can show factors such as active calories, exercise minutes, and walking paces among others.

The Apple Watch Series 5, to be powered by the watchOS 6, will also have a number of new watch faces to choose from. The watch faces not only offers new complications that would make the wearable gadget convenient for the user but also offers the option to customize so favorite apps can be used more efficiently. Some of the watch faces that will be available include Modular Compact, Solar Dial, California, Gradient and Numerals faces.

And for the price, Mac World said that base models will most likely remain the same as the Series 4, which starts at $399. This could get more expensive if it’s true that we might be getting a ceramic version again while those with fancier straps can expect to get an Apple Watch Series 5 unit at $1,499.
