Monday’s finale of “Teen Mom 2” will be a big one for Kailyn Lowry and Javi Marroquin. The couple has been facing troubles in their marriage this season, and MTV has revealed that the Season 7 closer may tie up some loose ends.

A sneak peek at episode 12 shows Kailyn and Javi, who is currently deployed overseas in the U.S. Air Force, having a heart-to-heart about their relationship on the phone. After Kailyn says she feels their marriage is “up in the air,” Javi makes it clear he doesn’t think they will remain a couple.

“You don’t want to be with me because I don’t want to have any more kids?” Kailyn asks.

Javi clarifies that he does want to remain in the marriage but that they won’t “work” aa a couple if she doesn’t have a third child with him. Kailyn says she doesn’t want another child because she struggles being a single mom while he’s away and wants to start her career soon, but he calls her reasons “bulls---.”

While viewers will have to wait until Monday night to discover more about Kailyn and Javi’s plans for their future, the couple has shared more about their marriage off-camera in recent weeks. After sidestepping divorce rumors, Kailyn confirmed that they were parting ways late last month, telling the Daily Mail they were doing the best they could for her sons Lincoln, 2, and Isaac, 6, whom she shares with ex-boyfriend Jo Rivera. Javi responded by deleting his Twitter account and hasn’t reinstated it since the announcement.

It doesn’t appear the couple has filed divorce papers yet, but recent reports suggest the pair have been separated for some time. Ashley’s Reality Roundup has revealed they split up in December while they were filming Season 7 of “Teen Mom 2,” which would explain the multiple contentious scenes between the pair. A source told Us Weekly Kailyn felt divorce was “inevitable” because of their clashing, strong personalities.

“They’ve been unhealthy for a while,” said an insider. “There was always a disconnect.”

Tune in to the Season 7 finale of "Teen Mom 2" on Monday at 10 p.m. EDT on MTV.
