  • Paris Hilton is rallying behind old friend Britney Spears amid her controversial conservatorship
  • Hilton has yet to watch "Framing Britney Spears" but said she feels for the pop star
  • The socialite said she "just can't imagine being controlled" like Spears

Paris Hilton has yet to watch the much-talked-about documentary on old friend Britney Spears, but the singer has the support of the socialite, who said she "can't imagine being controlled like that."

On Thursday, Hilton once more expressed support for Spears during a new episode of her new iHeartRadio podcast "This Is Paris." She was one of the celebrities who made an appearance in "Framing Britney Spears," which delves into the 39-year-old pop star's rise to fame and her life under a conservatorship that was implemented in 2008, after she was hospitalized for psychiatric treatment.

"I haven't spoken to her in a few months. I haven't even watched the film yet, because I've been so busy," said Hilton, who famously partied with Spears in 2006 and claimed they invented the selfie together.

"But I heard it's just a really sad movie. It makes me really feel for her, because she's such a sweet girl and has such a big heart and I just can't imagine being controlled like that. You know, when you're an adult and you've worked your whole life for building this empire and then just to be treated like a child, it's just not fair," she added.

While the 40-year-old reality star hasn't been in touch with Spears recently, Hilton has backed the #FreeBritney movement on social media and showed support for the pop star in past interviews.

Hilton also discussed the tabloid media's "misogynistic view" of her, Spears and other celebrities.

"I've been reading all of these articles coming out where they were just saying, like, Britney, Paris and just like, a group of us were just were treated so unfairly and just like, this really misogynistic view and just being very cruel and mean and making fun of us. It made me think a lot this week, reading all these new things that are coming out after the Britney film," she said.

On the other hand, Spears' family and friends have had "mixed" reactions regarding "Framing Britney Spears," an unnamed source told Us Weekly.

“The likes of her dad [Jamie Spears] and others in the conservatorship are far from happy about it, obviously, because they feel it’s another example of them being painted as money-grabbing villains when all they’re doing – so they say – is trying to help Britney run her life and stay in a safe place,” the insider said.

“But there are growing numbers of people who think it’s high time this extremely sad and confusing story was aired and it’s a positive step in the right direction," added the source.

Meanwhile, Jamie Spears recently narrated via his lawyer, Vivian Thoreen, his side of the story regarding his daughter's conservatorship.

"I understand that every story wants to have a villain, but people have it so wrong here," Thoreen said in an interview with "Good Morning America" Thursday.

"This is a story about a fiercely loyal, loving, and dedicated father who rescued his daughter from a life-threatening situation. People were harming her and they were exploiting her," the lawyer continued.

Thoreen went on to say that Jamie "saved" the singer's life and "worked tirelessly to protect her" since being named her conservator.

"Before the conservatorship, it was reported that Britney was making $40 million a year. When Jamie stepped in as conservator in 2008, court records show that Britney's assets were worth $2.8 million and she was in debt and facing lawsuits to the tune of millions of dollars," Thoreen said. "So it's under Jamie's stewardship for the past 13 years that he's been able to restore Britney's finances to where they are today to nearly $60 million," said the lawyer.

"Thanks to Jamie's efforts, Britney's estate is now capable of taking care of Britney and her children for the rest of their lives, as long as no one is permitted to exploit or take advantage of her again," she added.

The lawyer claimed that the singer "makes decisions all the time" related to her performances, albums and more.

"If she wants to perform, if she wants to record an album, if she wants her name and likeness used, or if she just wants to live her life like a normal person, Jamie collaborates with Britney to make that happen," said the lawyer.

Spears' conservatorship will last until September, with the next hearing on the case set for March 17.
