  • Britney Spears has revealed why her body "looks a little different" in a new video
  • The singer chose "portion control" to stay in shape
  • She said her body feels "way better" after she followed her new diet plan

Britney Spears acknowledged that she looks different in her latest video and revealed that it's all thanks to her new diet plan.

In her new dance video on Instagram, Spears showed off her figure in a white cropped top and pink shorts as she grooves to "(Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay" and "Tramp." She explained in the caption that the previous video she posted of her dancing was "from months ago."

"Hence why my body looks a little different in this new video," she wrote in the post shared Tuesday.

"No … I didn’t follow through with the ice cream diet," she added, referring to a recent Instagram post in which she told fans she was trying a diet where she eats ice cream "twice a day."

Spears clarified that her actual diet plan is "portion control," which she said was "very hard when it comes to Doritos." As for the benefits she has gotten from her new regime, she said her "body does feel way better now."

Spears also explained why she is wearing socks that only covered her toes in her latest video, revealing that she was "waiting for real lyrical shoes."

"The marble floor has done a number on my feet with blisters so white tape covered with a black sock will have to do for now !!!! My lyrical shoes come tomorrow and I haven’t worn a pair since I was 9 so I’m sure they’re even better these days !!! God bless and sending love to all of you," she wrote.

Last week, she had shared a dance video in which her physique looked slightly different.

"What can I say ....I LOVE dancing and doing cardio in my living room !!!!!" she captioned the clip, adding, "At least I'm closer to the fridge so I can get water!!!"

The videos come days after the release of the "Framing Britney Spears" documentary, which was a part of The New York Times Presents series. It focused on the difficulties the 39-year-old pop star has experienced throughout her career, including her ongoing legal battle with father Jamie Spears.

Singer John Mayer recently said that "Framing Britney Spears" almost brought him to tears several times when he watched the documentary.

"I almost cried five times during that," Mayer during an appearance on SiriusXM's "Andy Cohen Live" Monday. "To see the sadness in this human being... I mean, I was on the edge of tears five times, because if you understand what this business/industry/lifestyle does to a person. To go through this and come out the other side okay, is to have infinite grace for those who struggle with it."
