Luxury fashion house Balenciaga has collaborated with Crocs to create several unique shoes, including stiletto clogs. However, the new design caused a stir on Twitter, with people commenting about the odd combination.

On Sunday, the Balenciaga Crocs 2.0 collaboration was revealed during the fashion house’s spring 2022 runway show. Models were dressed in gray, black, and green Crocs featuring high heels, rain boots, and pool slides.

“Fetish stiletto sandals, pumps, and boots emphasize the shape of toes, imprinted in soft calfskin. Ultra flats and pumps take on the shape of toes in carbon effect flexible high-tech material. Blade pumps and boots are defined by their super-sharp lines,” Balenciaga stated in a description of the collection.

However, some people on Twitter mocked the idea of adding a heel to the Crocs clog, which is known for having an unattractive design but providing owners with a very comfortable shoe.

“That Crocs & Balenciaga collab is actually real, and I am just trying to understand why?” one person tweeted.

Another critic appeared disappointed with the style of the new show “Balenciaga x Crocs collab. Yall can do better smh,” the individual wrote.

Although there were plenty of people on Twitter that were opposed to the new shoe, there’s a good chance that the collection will sell out once it is released.

Balenciaga previously collaborated with Crocs for its spring 2018 ready-to-wear collection. At the time, the models were dressed in platform Crocs featuring a variety of colors, including black, pink, and green.

The Crocs also featured Jibbitz charms with images of peace signs, the Balenciaga logo, flowers, and more. The first Balenciaga x Crocs collaboration retailed for $850 and sold out immediately after its release.

Crocs and Balenciaga have not revealed how much the latest shoe collaboration will retail for or when it will be released.
