“Real Housewives of New York City” fans were left in shock last summer when Bethenny Frankel announced she was leaving the popular reality series. Although Bethenny appeared content with her decision at the time, when the show was able to continue its high ratings without her, the star reportedly lashed out.

In August, the Skinnygirl founder revealed she would not be returning for another season of “RHONY.” Instead, she planned to focus on her daughter, Brynn, her BStrong charity, and a career in production.

However, a Bravo production source told Page Six that Bethenny is furious that the show has been able to thrive without her. “She’s jealous [because] she’s not on still. She made a rash decision [to leave], and she misses the limelight of it all,” the insider said.

“And she can’t believe it will be as successful without her and maybe better,” the source added.

In November, longtime producer Barrie Bernstein reportedly said that the cast doesn’t need Bethenny while appearing on a panel at BravoCon.

At the time, Bernstein was asked how he thought Bethenny’s absence would affect the show. The producer reflected on the past seasons that were successful without Bethenny and predicted the show would be able to continue without her.

“Bethenny, of course, is Bethenny. We did three seasons without her in the middle, it was successful, a lot of fun, some of the best trips,” he said.

“And the ladies, they’ve done this for a while, and they don’t need Bethenny. I think this season we’re really excited to shine that,” Bernstein added.

Following the comment, Bethenny reportedly cut ties with Bernstein. “Bethenny got wind of it, got very angry and blocked [Bernstein] from her phone,” the source said.

Currently, Bethenny appears focused on using her BStrong organization to help healthcare workers and those affected amid the coronavirus pandemic.
