“Big Bang Theory” star Johnny Galecki has visited his San Luis Obispo ranch after it was burned down by a massive fire on Wednesday, June 28.

On Thursday, June 29, the actor shared a photo of himself on the site via his Instagram account. In the snap, the 42-year-old CBS actor can be seen hugging one of the firefighters who helped him during a very difficult time. Another guy wearing a yellow jumpsuit is featured in the photograph. He is holding a shovel, and by the looks of it, he and his partner are ready to work on Galecki’s burned down property. According to People, both are members of California’s fire and rescue team. Galecki also took the opportunity to once again thank everyone who showed their love and support for him and his family via his photo caption.

According to KSBY, the Hill Fire affected around 1,500 acres of properties and land. Two fires were initially reported in area, but they later on merged into just one huge fire. Nearly 250 people were evacuated from their homes, and all of the roads leading to the area were closed.

Immediately after news broke out, Galecki released a statement to TMZ expressing his sadness over the incident. “My heart goes out to all in the area who are also experiencing loss from this vicious fire, the threat of which we live with constantly, which may seem crazy to some but we do so because living in our beautiful, rural area makes it worthwhile. It’s never the structures that create a community – it’s the people. And if the people of Santa Margarita have taught me anything it’s that, once the smoke has cleared, literally and figuratively, it’s a time to reach out and rebuild,” he said.

Meanwhile, Galecki and his co-stars are still on a short break following the success of “Big Bang Theory” Season 10. The hit CBS sitcom has been picked up for Seasons 11 and 12, and table reads are expected to take place sometime this summer. After all, “Big Bang Theory” Season 11 will premiere on Sept. 25 at 8 p.m. EST.
