After dominating all the music charts and award shows in 2019, Billie Eilish continued her golden run in the field of music by adding one more feather in her cap. The young artist’s hit song “Bad Guy” has been named the top-selling song of 2019 by the International Federation of Phonographic Industry (IFPI).

IFPI is an organization that keeps track of the music industry across the globe. The organization ranks the consumption of music for every artist that includes the sales of digital albums, physical albums, singles, and streaming services.

The singer defeated the likes of Lil Nas X, Shawn Mendes, Camila Cabello, Post Malone, and Ariana Grande to claim the numero uno position. “Bad Guy” sold more than 19.5 million copies last year while Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” sold 18.4 million copies.

“Senorita” by Mendes and Cabello nabbed the third place with 16.1 million copies sold while Malone’s “Sunflower” came in at fourth with 13.4 million copies sold. Grande’s “7 Rings” rounded out the top 5 with 13.3 million copies sold.

Artists like Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran, and Halsey also made it to the coveted list.

When it came to albums, Japanese boy band Arashi's 20th anniversary greatest hits album “5x20 - All The Best!” dominated the list after selling 3.3 million copies worldwide. The second spot went to Taylor Swift’s gigantic hit “Lover.” BTS, Gaga, and Eilish rounded out the top five.

The organization released a report in March that saw Swift being named the best-selling international artist of 2019. This is the second time Swift nabbed the numero uno position on the coveted list. In 2014, the “Bad Blood” hitmaker topped the list when her blockbuster album “1989” came out while this year’s award was given for her latest album “Lover.” Three singles from the album – “Me!,” “You Need To Calm Down,” and “Lover” – debuted at number one on the global charts of Spotify.

Second place went to Ed Sheeran, making his third consecutive appearance on the list. In 2017, he was named the best-selling international artist of the year. The third spot went to Post Malone while Billie Eilish and legendary band Queen ranked fourth and fifth, respectively.
