Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander) will find information about her real identity through the help of Archie Panjabi's character in "Blindspot" Season 2. NBC

“Blindspot” Season 2 just dropped a new teaser for the hit NBC TV series featuring new cast member Archie Panjabi.

According to Deadline, the actress will be playing the role of a yet-to-be-named head of a secret division of the NSA who has been actively involved in tracking Jane Doe’s (Jaimie Alexander) case from a distance. In the teaser clip, Panjabi’s character could be heard telling Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) that she feels the clock is running down, and they need to find a lot of information about Jane as soon as possible.

Since Panjabi’s character will be working closely with Kurt and his team, she is expected to learn the truth about Jane’s name. The former will also find information about Orion, the lead character’s tattoos and what exactly happened to her in the CIA black site. Panjabi is also expected to be instrumental in reuniting Jane and Kurt, since she will encourage the two characters to work together despite their major fallout in season 1.

In a separate teaser, Panjabi’s character could be seen speaking with Jane and urging the latter to be honest with her. “I need you to be completely honest with me right now…” she says while Kurt, Patterson (Ashley Johnson), Zapata (Audrey Esparza) and Reed (Rob Brown) look on.

Meanwhile, “Blindspot” season 2 will also be introducing a slew of new characters in the upcoming episodes. According to TV Line, “The Tomorrow People” alum Luke Mitchell and “Law & Order: SVU” alum Michelle Hurd may play the roles of either Jane’s friends or foes.

In other news, Alexander recently shared a photo of herself from the set of the hit NBC series. The actress, who needs to wear fake tattoos in the TV show, acknowledged the fact that “it takes a village” for her to look like her character Jane.

“Blindspot” season 2 will premiere on NBC on Sept. 14 at 8 p.m. ET.
