Former Las Vegas strip club manager and founder of the biggest "megachurch," Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale in Florida has been accused of molesting a girl for years starting from the age of four years, reports said Wednesday.

The former pastor of the Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale Bob Coy has been facing allegations of abusing the girl child until she was a teenager. The victim’s mother told police that Coy had forced the victim to perform oral sex on him and he would allegedly "finger and fondle" her genitals, and would "dirty talk" to the girl, according to the Miami New Times.

The mother of the victim first informed Coral Springs Police in 2015. However, according to Miami New Times, documents showed that law enforcement failed to take action before finally dropping the case at the request of the victim.

The victim reportedly told the police she "found forgiveness" following an "experience with God" after reporting the alleged abuse.

In 2014, televangelist Coy resigned from his position as senior pastor at the church after "confessing to a moral failing" in his life, which was rumored to involve multiple affairs and an addiction to pornography.

Coy was never charged with the crime regarding the alleged abuse claims and "lay low" even after leaving the church, according to the newspaper. He also declined to discuss the child abuse case when questioned, however, throughout the case, he maintained innocence and passed a polygraph test to prove it.

"I can't discuss it on the record. If you're foolish enough to go through with this story... it would hurt a lot of people," he said at the Funky Biscuit nightclub in Boca Raton recently, which he now helps manage, according to Miami New Times.

Coy was a part of the entertainment industry during the early 1980s when he became a record promoter for Capitol Records after finishing high school. He told the Miami Herald in 2000 that he began to "medicate" with cocaine and alcohol when he started adapting to the fast-paced, rock music lifestyle he became a part of. "In the rock ’n’ roll scene, you meet people of power and influence and wealth, and they have the same kind of problems everybody else has," he had said.

At the age of 22, he took a job at a Las Vegas casino named Jolly Trolley. That, too, only led to "pseudo happiness." In the mid-’80s he found religion, married Diane Coy with whom he fathered two children and then eventually became a pastor.

In response to the molestation allegations against Coy, spokesperson for the Evangelical megachurch Michael Miller, told the Independent: "Our church was saddened to hear of the allegations made against Bob Coy years after his resignation and departure as senior pastor."

"We learned of this report after it was disclosed and reported to the appropriate authorities," Miller added.

"We take every allegation of abuse seriously and our prayers are with all those involved as they pursue redemption and healing. Because this is a personal matter, any further questions would be best addressed to Bob Coy himself," he further said.

The church is currently said to have a congregation of around 10,000.
