The Brown and Houston families found a way to honor both Bobbi Kristina Brown and her late mother, Whitney Houston, during the 22-year-old’s funeral. Family and friends gathered at St. James United Methodist Church in Alpharetta, Georgia, to pay their final respects to Bobbi Kristina Sunday. She died July 26 as a result of a tragic accident nearly six months prior.

According to TMZ, the funeral featured speakers from both sides of the family. Filmmaker Tyler Perry, who was a close friend of Bobbi Kristina’s mother, is also said to have delivered a speech during the service. Sources tell the publication that Bobby Brown, the former aspiring actress’s father, did not speak, but shared a heartfelt message in the program pamphlets.

TMZ claims he had, “I also will always love you” written on each one. The message is doubly meaningful as it seems to reference “I Will Always Love You,” one of Whitney’s most well-known songs. In closing, Bobbi Kristina’s family arranged for “Jesus Love Me,” another of her mother’s hits, to be the final song played.

Unfortunately, the funeral was far from the peaceful goodbye Bobbi Kristina’s family was hoping for. The service was interrupted several times by Bobbi Kristina's aunt, Leolah Brown, who was said to be yelling at her fellow aunt, Pat Houston. She was reportedly heard telling Pat she was “wrong for this!” before being kicked out. Once outside she began speaking with paparazzi, telling them Whitney was going to “haunt Pat Houston from the grave.” The pair have been feuding since Bobbi Kristina’s funeral arrangements were announced.

As previously reported, Bobbi Kristina’s funeral, which was arranged by Pat, was said to have had a “Sweet 16” theme. Many members of the family, including cousin Dionne Warwick, were reportedly displeased with this decision as they felt it was disrespectful to Bobbi Kristina. In addition to disagreements over the theme, the Brown and Houston families found themselves at odds with Pat after learning that she had been allegedly soliciting funds for her charity organization using Bobbi Kristina’s name. Leolah took to Facebook to ask fans not to donate to her “evil” cause noting that she had not discussed these fundraising efforts with Bobby or any other members of the family.

Bobbi Kristina’s body will reportedly be shipped to Westfield, New Jersey, Monday for the final burial. According to reports, she will be laid to rest next to her mother.
