The newly released "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations'' Episode 201 hinted at Kawaki joining forces with Boruto and his friends. Kawaki, who was working on his chakra, wanted to become more like his mentor, Naruto, and fight against Jigen and the mysterious organization, Kara.

Kawaki met with a nine-tailed beast named Kurama in the opening shot of Episode 201. He was mesmerized to learn about a beast living inside the Seventh Hokage.

Kurama told him he is like a yokai. Meanwhile, Kawaki remained on edge but Kurama wanted him to calm down.

The beast then shared how he met Naruto. Kurama revealed he was responsible for the death of Naruto's parents. He added he was sealed inside Naruto when he was a baby.

After learning about Naruto's struggles, he asked Kurama if he could become like him. The beast said it was not impossible but it all depended on him.

Later, Kawaki recalled his training days with Jigen at one of the Kara hideouts. He remembered how Jigen was ruthless and wanted him to learn to use Karma quickly.

Naruto and Boruto later met Kawaki. Naruto asked him to use his chakra to climb a tree. Kawaki proved he is a quick learner and was able to impress his mentor.

Kawaki met the rest of Team 7 and told them how his ninjutsu training was making him stronger than before.

Not just Kawaki and Boruto, the episode also showed Sarada's resolve to master the art of Chidori. She still lacked power and could not execute it like her father, but she knew she needed to improve before they face Jigen and his evil Kara Inners.
