KEY POINTS

  • Bose has released a new pair of noise-canceling headphones for gaming
  • The new QuietComfort 35 II gaming headset is actually the QC 35 II but with a detachable mic
  • Bose said the detachable microphone isn't available for individual sale

Bose has released the new QuietComfort 35 II gaming headset, its latest offering designed to let players enjoy the great quality sound and noise-canceling technologies the company has been known for.

The new QuietComfort 35 II gaming headset is basically the company's QC 35 II noise-canceling headphones but with a microphone attached to the left ear cup. This gaming module, as Bose calls it, can be removed so that users can wear the headphones anywhere they want without a microphone pointing toward their lips.

Here's a quick look at the new QuietComfort 35 II gaming headset's main features:

Wired Gaming Mode

With the gaming module attached, players can use the QC 35 II gaming headset to listen to every detail in the games they play while communicating with other players, such as teammates.

The headset uses Bose noise cancellation to remove every sound that might distract players from playing their best in any game. It then uses lifelike sound to let players hear every important detail – such as footsteps, gunshots, enemy movements and so on – so they'll know what's happening.

The Discord and TeamSpeak-certified boom mic is also designed to reject noise, allowing gamers to communicate as clearly as possible with other players. The gaming module allows players to connect the headset to their controllers or consoles using a wired connection, resulting in less audio lag.

Bose also has an optional PC desktop controller that will allow users to adjust volumes and microphone sensitivity on the fly.

Wireless Lifestyle Mode

Players who won't be playing but would simply love to listen to some music can remove the gaming module and use the QC 35 II gaming headset as a pair of wireless headphones.

This “wireless lifestyle mode,” as Bose calls it, allows users to enjoy the headset as a normal pair of QC 35 II's, complete with three noise cancellation settings, Active EQ and the company's signature audio.

The headset is also compatible with Amazon Alexa or the Google Assistant, allowing users to do more things easier.

Battery life

Bose claims the QuietComfort 35 II gaming headset offers up to 40 hours battery life in wired gaming mode and up to 20 hours in wireless lifestyle mode. A 15-minute charge results in up to 5 hours of wired gaming, or up to 2.5 hours of wireless listening.

Bose is selling the QuietComfort 35 II gaming headset for $329.95. Preorders are now accepted.

For those who might be wondering, Bose said the gaming module comes with the QuietComfort 35 II gaming headset and is not sold separately at the moment.
