“The Boss Baby” just topped “Beauty and the Beast” on its pre-Easter premiere.

According to Variety, the animated film became an instant box office hit with $26.6 million in revenue in North America alone. “Beauty and the Beast,” which is already on its fourth weekend, closed with $25.2 million in revenue at more than 4,000 different locations. The film also pushed back the revenue for “Smurfs: Lost Village” that came in third. The film’s estimated three-day earning was only reported at a little over $14 million.

“Boss Baby” follows the life of a baby (Alec Baldwin) who arrives in a taxi and destroys a young boy’s relationship with his entire family. The story is based on the book written by Marla Frazee and is told from the perspective of a 7-year-old boy named Tim (voiced by Miles Bakshi), who also happens to be an only child. Tim is used to being at the center of his parent’s attention until the baby arrives in a taxi. The instant sibling rivalry draws Tim and the baby into endless fights, and things get worse when Tim finds out that the baby is actually out on a mission. The narrator is determined to expose the baby’s plot of pitting babies and dogs against each other, but he needs to figure out the best way to do so.

20th Century Fox released the film that also stars Lisa Kudrow and Jimmy Kimmel. The former plays the role of Tim’s mom, and the latter plays the role of Tim’s dad. Ramsey Naito acted as the producer for the animated film that is directed by Tom McGrath, according to Deadline.
