Brad Pitt was saddened that his statement following his split from Jennifer Aniston was taken in the wrong context.

According to Amanda Harding, even without Jolie, Pitt and Aniston would still divorce because they were no longer happy. Pitt said in a past interview that he was not living an interesting life partly due to his marriage with Aniston. Some felt that he was implying that Aniston was dull.

The “Ad Astra” star was criticized for his statement. However, he later explained why he said those words and reasoned out that he was just misinterpreted.

“It grieves me that this was interpreted this way,” Pitt said.

“Jen is an incredibly giving, loving, and hilarious woman who remains my friend. It is an important relationship I value greatly.”

“The point I was trying to make is not that Jen was dull, but that I was becoming dull to myself — and that, I am responsible for,”

According to another source, there were several factors that caused Pitt and Aniston’s split. There was already trouble in paradise even before the “Maleficent” actress came into the picture. Among the factors were Pitt wasting his life and wasting his opportunities. Also, the exes couldn’t reportedly agree on having kids.

Aniston and Pitt’s fans were convinced that they were the perfect couple, so they were devastated when the pair announced their split. Their separation came months after Pitt and Jolie filmed their 2014 movie “Mr. & Mrs. Smith.”

Shortly after their split was announced, Pitt was spotted frolicking at the beach with Jolie and her son, Maddox. The pictures sparked rumors that Pitt and Jolie had an affair, but both denied it.

Pitt and Jolie decided to part ways in 2016. Meanwhile, Aniston and Theroux announced in February 2018 that they had also decided to split. Pitt and Aniston’s fans were hoping that they would get back together.

A recent report claimed that even Pitt’s close pal George Clooney wanted him to be with Aniston again. The “Money Monster” star reportedly arranged a date for Pitt and Aniston in Rome. Pitt is equally keen to reunite with his first ex-wife and is reportedly working hard to convince Aniston that she could still trust him.
