Britney Spears wants to make her manager her permanent conservator as she is strongly against her dad Jamie Spears handling the responsibility.

Britney wants to change her long-standing conservatorship by filing a court document requesting to make Jodi Montgomery, her longtime care manager, as her permanent conservator. Montgomery was appointed as Britney’s temporary conservator in September 2019 and her court appointment expires on Aug. 22. The papers also revealed that the "Toxic" singer doesn't want her father to be her conservator.

"[Jamie] previously served as sole conservator of her person since 2008," the document read as quoted by Entertainment Tonight.

"Britney is strongly opposed to having [Jamie] return as conservator of her person. Rather, she strongly prefers to have Ms. Montgomery continue in that role as she has done for nearly a year. ... Britney would like Ms. Montgomery's appointment as conservator of her person to be made permanent."

The document also revealed that Britney doesn't want her father to be the sole handler of her finances. Instead, she prefers a qualified corporate fiduciary.

"Britney is strongly opposed to Jamie continuing as sole conservator of her estate. Rather, without in any way waiving her right to seek termination of this conservatorship in the future, she strongly prefers to have a qualified corporate fiduciary appointed to serve in this role," the document continued.

"We are now at a point where the conservatorship must be changed substantially in order to reflect the major changes in her current lifestyle and her stated wishes.”

Britney’s dad has responded to the #FreeBritney movement earlier this month and called it a “joke.” He also stressed that he was leaving the decision to court and denied the conspiracy theories suggesting that the pop princess is a prisoner in gilded cage.

"All these conspiracy theorists don’t know anything. The world don’t have a clue," Jamie said.

"It’s up to the court of California to decide what’s best for my daughter. It’s no one else’s business.”

Jamie added that he loves his daughter and urged the public to stop interfering because it is a family matter.

"I love my daughter. I love all my kids. But this is our business. It’s private,” Britney’s dad said.

Meanwhile, an insider told U.S. Weekly that Britney's lawyers were not happy that her family was going public with their comments on her feelings about the conservatorship. The report came after her brother, Bryan, said she wanted to get out of the conservatorship, which started in 2008.
