Amid its supposed break, BTS is having a concert in October to promote South Korea's bid to host the 2030 World Expo in Busan.

The group's label, Big Hit Music, and its parent company, HYBE, met with the bid committee Thursday to discuss promotional activities, particularly BTS' upcoming Busan concert, which aims to boost the nation's bid to host the international fair, Korea Times reported.

A team led by Lee Sung-kwon, the deputy economic mayor of Busan, and Park Jung-wook, secretary-general of the 2030 Busan World Expo bidding committee, discussed their plans to hold an appointment ceremony declaring BTS as ambassadors for the Expo.

"We thank HYBE for their active cooperation. We are confident that BTS' support for the 2030 Busan World Expo will be of huge strength for the bidding of Busan, amidst this competitive situation. We will engage in recruitment negotiations, with the government also doing everything in its capacity," Park said during the meeting, as per Soompi.

City officials also vowed to support BTS as it continues to promote Korean culture.

"In the future too, the city of Busan will work with the government to actively support BTS, a global icon and representative of Korean culture, in their promotions as the ambassador of the 2030 Busan World Expo," Lee said, according to the outlet.

Officials signed a memorandum of understanding last month to appoint the global sensation as ambassadors for the expo. As expected, Twitter went abuzz as loyal fans rejoiced at the upcoming concert.

"Bringing back this iconic Dimple performance by vocal line at 5th Muster in Busan," a fan tweeted alongside a clip of BTS performing "Dimple" during its 2019 show in Busan.

Another fan expressed their happiness that the boy band is having a new show. "Less than a month since they said they're focusing on solo projects and we already got Jungkook's collaboration, Hoseok's first solo album, Taehyung's 'In The Soop' with friends, and upcoming OT7 concert in Busan this October. We get no breaks," the fan wrote in a tweet.

BTS made headlines in June when it announced that it would go on a "hiatus," which some interpreted as impending disbandment. HYBE promptly denied the speculation and clarified that the members are simply focusing on solo activities while the group remains intact.
