BTS' oldest member, Kim Seok-Jin, says it is important for artists to maintain fervor even during hectic schedules. While seriousness and determination are required each time they record a new song or shoot a music video, the singer/songwriter says he always tries to lighten up the mood with jokes to break the monotony at work, which could otherwise lead to burnout.

"I think having fun is one of the things that makes it possible for me to work without burning out… I hate it when there's a serious atmosphere. When people are too serious, I always try to lift the mood," Jin told Vogue Korea, Koreaboo reported. The magazine is releasing a special edition in January featuring the famous septet in its cover story.

BTS is one of the busiest bands in the world, releasing one new track after another since its launch in 2013. While other bands may have already reached their peak or may have disbanded by now, BTS continues to reach new heights in the international scene.

As exciting as it is, Jin said their work lacks clear boundaries and it oftentimes overlaps with their personal time. For instance, the group's agency recently gifted them newly-constructed villas in the middle of an undisclosed location in Season 2 of "In The Soop."

While there was no official schedule assigned to the septet during their stay there, their daily activities were filmed and shown to their fans worldwide.

Jin said he always tries to help everyone have a fun time at work.

"Usually, when a serious person and a jovial person have a conversation, one of them gives in. Usually, the conversation ends up becoming serious, but with me, it's different. If one of our staff members is very serious, I usually try to make jokes. If someone is too serious and I feel we can't get along, then I just start avoiding them as soon as possible," he told Vogue Korea.

"Of course, I take my work very seriously…I can't specifically tell you when I'm being serious. Except when I'm on stage, 80 to 90% of my time is spent joking around," Jin pointed out.

The 29-year-old "Dynamite" singer is currently the most successful solo musician on Billboard's Hot Trending Songs chart.

His solo release, "Super Tuna," is at No. 14 on the chart. It was at No. 12 two weeks ago. He has appeared on the chart five times as a member of the septet and twice on his own with "Super Tuna" and his other solo music, "Yours," which is currently at No. 20.

BTS has dominated the nearly three-month-old Hot Trending Songs chart with their hits "Permission To Dance" and "Butter."
