BTS’ youngest member Jungkook waxed lyrical about his gratitude and love for the group’s fandom, collectively known as ARMY, in a new song that dropped Monday.

The global sensation’s official Twitter page announced the release of the new song and its music video in a tweet that read, “Song For ARMY, ‘My You’ by Jung Kook of BTS.” The release of the new track is part of the ninth anniversary celebration of BTS on Monday.

The tweet opens to the website of the group’s blog, Bangtan Blog which showed the song credits, the lyrics of the song and a special note to fans from Jungkook.

"All these lights are colored in by you/All these times are precious due to you/Four seasons have passed with you/Four scents were left ‘cause of you,” Jungkook, also known as JK, sings in the chorus of “My You.”

“All the reasons why I can laugh out/All the reasons why I sing this song/Thankful to be by your side now/I'll try to shine brighter than now.”

The 24-year-old K-pop idol also expressed vulnerability in a note on the Bangtan Blog as he touched on the idea of someday losing their magic as performers.

“When I think of you all, sometimes the emotions I feel are so overwhelming that I often wonder what would happen if all of this disappears or if this is all a dream,” the “Butter” singer wrote per fan translations. “I’ve had this thought. So, I wrote a song based on these thoughts, and I thought the mood of the song could be too depressing so I tried to fill the lyrics with pretty words.”

Jungkook hoped that the ARMY will feel encouraged through his new music.

"It’s a song only for you and I hope this song will make me who made this song and all of you who will listen to this song become more hopeful, make each us shine and be a strength," he said on his note to fans.

Aside from their successful sold-out concerts in the U.S. in 2021 and in April earlier this year, BTS has consistently claimed coveted spots on the Billboard charts. This year, they also won three trophies from Billboard Music Awards in May: Top Duo/Group, Top Selling Song for "Butter," and Top Song Sales Artist.
