Camilla Parker Bowles and Meghan Markle shared at least one sweet thing in common.

The two female royals are passionate about dog adoption. Even before the Duchess of Sussex joined the royal family, she has already adopted two adorable dogs that she named Bogart and Guy. The latter traveled to the United Kingdom to be with Markle just before she wed Prince Harry.

Bogart, who is much older than Guy, was unable to make it to the UK because the “Suits” alum feared that he will not be suited to travel by plane for hours. Markle decided to leave Bogart with one of her friends back in Toronto.

Months after marrying the Duke of Sussex, Markle and Prince Harry decided to adopt another dog. During one of her royal engagements, Markle told fans that the media has been getting the name of her new dog wrong. However, she did not reveal the moniker she chose for the mutt.

Earlier this month, Markle chose the dog charity Mayhew as one of her patronages. Last week, she met up with the staff and heads of the charity, and she also had the opportunity to bond and play with some of the dogs at Mayhew.

Camilla, meanwhile, also has two rescued Jack Russell Terriers named Bluebell and Beth. She got the two dogs from the Battersea Dog and Cats Home, which she was made a patron of in 2017. But even before she officially became the patron of the dog and cat charity, Camilla has already been supporting them behind closed doors.

Penny Junor, a royal author, talked about Camilla’s involvement at Battersea Dog and Cats Home in her book “The Duchess: The Untold Story.”

“She has supported the charity unofficially for many years, both by visiting and by giving a home to two abandoned puppies,” she said.

Following Markle’s visit to Mayhew, she told everyone that she could not take in another rescued dog at the moment because she will give birth soon.

“We can’t take another dog before the baby as our hands are too full,” she said.
