7 passengers, including 3 children, died after their plane crashed in Ontario, Canada Wednesday evening, reports said.

A Texas family of five and a Canadian couple died when Piper PA-32 crashed in the city of Kingston. The pilot Otabek Oblokulov, his wife and three kids aged 3, 11 and 15 died in the crash along with Bobomurod Nabiev and his wife.

According to Kingston Police Const. Ash Gutheinz, there were no survivors from the crash.

Oblokulov and his family resided in Houston, whereas Nabiev and his wife were originally from Uzbekistan, but were now permanent residents of Canada.

The Piper PA-32 plane, also known as a Cherokee Six, was on its way to Quebec City from Buttonville Municipal Airport in Markham, Ontario. Mehmet Basti, a friend of the Oblokulovs told CBC news that the family was planning to stay the night in Kingston which made them change their course.

The plane made contact with Kingston's flight service station before it went down in a heavily wooded and swampy area, northwest of Kingston, Canada’s Transportation Safety Board (TSB) said.

Ken Webster, the lead crash investigator with TSB, said that the plane went down at a very steep angle. He also said it was pretty early to speculate the cause of the crash.

"I imagine this is a very difficult time for the families and I hope we'll be able to provide some answers in the future," Webster said.

As the flight was registered in the U.S., the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will work with the Canadian authorities in the investigation. Factors like weather, maintenance, pilot training, and communications with air traffic control will be probed by the authorities for the possible cause of the crash.

Environment Canada had issued a statement for Kingston, advising that wind gusts could reach up to 80 km/h on Wednesday. TSB is investigating weather reports in detail to see if it contributed to the crash in any way.

"There were reports of deteriorating weather on the route; however, at this time, we don't know to what effect this had with the accident," Webster said.
