While Casey Anthony has been known as the most hated mom in America, she believes that she has paid her “pence” and is ready to reclaim her life after the death of her daughter.

In 2011, Anthony was acquitted on charges of murder and manslaughter for the death of her two-year-old daughter, Caylee. Since the acquittal Anthony has remained out of the spotlight, living a private life in Florida, dealing with her legal issues.

Anthony, who lives with the private investigators that worked on her case, recently resolved the last of her legal woes with the dismissal of a defamation suit against her by the man that found Caylee’s body. Anthony’s legal team argued that the man may have killed Caylee as part of their defense.

Since that last hurdle is over, Anthony is ready to put her past behind her and work on her social life, not caring what anyone says about her anymore, according to a source for People.

“She believes she has done her penance,” the news outlet source said “And now she’s partying. She’s dating around, meeting new people, and finally creating a social life.”

While Anthony did date someone for a period of time, that relationship has since fizzled as the People source said, “She wasn’t ready to settle down.”

Anthony may have found it difficult to maintain a normal life after the trial as millions watched in anticipation of the verdict. While Anthony was acquitted of the murder and manslaughter charges, she was convicted on four counts of lying to police.

“She describes her old life as a ‘nightmare.'” the source said “All of it: Caylee’s disappearance, the trial, her relationship with her parents. She lives in denial a lot of the time, pretending that everything that happened, didn’t happen.”
