NBC TV series “Chicago Med” returns in 2017 with brand new episodes featuring complicated cases and difficult decisions. Season 2, episode 9 will focus on a clash between two talented doctors – Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt) and Dr. Connor Rhodes (Colin Donnell).

According to the synopsis (via SpoilerTV) of the upcoming episode, titled “Uncharted Territory,” Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) assigns Dr. Charles the task of evaluating a patient who needs an urgent heart transplant. He has to decide whether she gets the transplant or not. In the promo, Rhodes and Charles clash because Rhodes believes that his patient will die if she doesn’t get a heart fast.

Meanwhile, in episode 9, Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee) will fix two MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) fighters who are in a bad shape when they are wheeled in to the ER department of Chicago Med. This case will teach Choi a valuable lesson.

The upcoming episode of “Chicago Med” will also show Dr. Stohl (Eddie Jemison) returning to the hospital after his sabbatical. As soon as he arrives, he offers a different medical opinion regarding the treatment of a patient under the care of Dr. Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss). Is it April (Yaya DaCosta)? The nurse discovered that she has a rare form of tuberculosis in the Season 2 fall finale. Unfortunately, she is also pregnant. The medicine for the disease is going to affect her baby.

In the romance front, medical student Jeff (Jeff Hephner) makes a confession to his lover Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto).

Charles’ daughter Robyn (Mekia Cox) guest stars in “Chicago Med” Season 2, episode 9. Rhodes is set to romance Robyn, much to the dismay of her father.
