Following the June 6 recall by Table 87 Frozen, LLC for pork pizza products that failed to receive a federal inspection, Pasture Raised Foods, LLC, doing business as Greener Pastures Chicken, has recalled an undetermined amount of frozen raw poultry products because they also did not receive a federal inspection.

The recalled chicken was produced from Nov. 29, 2018, through May 24, 2019, and is packaged in varying weight vacuum sealed packages, containing one whole chicken with the head and feet removed. It is labeled as Greener Pastures Chicken.

The affected poultry does not have an official USDA mark of inspection but was labeled with an establishment number of USDA P-34438 without authorization. The chicken was shipped to retailers, wholesalers, restaurants, and consumer households located in Texas.

Labels of the recalled poultry can be viewed here.

The company has not received any reports of adverse reactions to consuming the recalled poultry. Consumers concerned about illness from the affected chicken should contact their healthcare provider.

Consumers should check their freezers for the recalled poultry products. They should not be consumed. The chicken should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

Questions about the recall can be directed to Cameron Molberg, co-CEO of Pasture Raised Foods, LLC at 202-62-5417.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) discovered the issue when its personnel identified the chicken with an unapproved label.
